Take a Look at the 4 Series Convertible with BMW of Idaho Falls

Up until now, we knew little about the new BMW 4 Series convertible lineup save for what was revealed in the spy shots released this summer. Now, we not only know what this stylish auto is going to look like, but a few bits and bobs about what we can expect in terms of underpinnings and features.

The new 4 Series convertible will come in two variants--the 428i and the 435i--and is based off of the 2014 4 Series coupe. This means it shares a lot of design elements with its all-new coupe variant, including the angled headlights, side panel styling, and tail lamps.

As far as under-the-bonnet packing, you can find a sporty 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine on the BMW 428i, offering a 240 horsepower, 255 lb.-ft of torque displacement. Not too shabby, but what if you want more? Take it up to the BMW 435i, and there's a more growly 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six with 300 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft of torque. Regardless of your power needs, you won't miss out.

The 4 Series convertible also comes with some design enhancements to reduce wind noise, such as sound proofing added to the auto's three-piece hard top. There are also some new Air Breathers installed on the front wheel arches to reduce drag.

When will folks in our Idaho Falls, ID locale be able to drive this new convertible?

Quite soon. According to the automaker, the 4 Series convertible will bow at dealerships like BMW of Idaho Falls in the first quarter of 2014. We'll keep you posted on our blog.
