2014 BMW 4 Series Convertible Officially Unveiled

It has been an extremely busy year full of new models and innovations for the BMW brand. One of the most highly anticipated events of the year was the debut of the new 4 Series. While the coupe has already arrived in our Idaho Falls, ID showroom, the convertible had yet to make an appearance, until recently.

At this month's Los Angeles Auto Show, the Bavarian automaker decided it was time to take the wraps off of the 4 Series convertible and showcase all of its luxurious and powerful features, which BMW of Idaho Falls couldn't wait to pass down to our readers in the Butte, MT area.

The convertible is offered in the 428i and 435i variants, each of which can be outfitted with the Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport trims. The 428i convertible houses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that is capable of productizing 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque and sprints from zero-to-sixty in just 6.2 seconds.

The 435i convertible boosts the power output up a notch with its 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine which churns out 300 horsepower alongside of 300 pound-feet of torque for a 0-60 mph sprint time of a mere 5.5 seconds. Both variants will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission as the manual transmission option will not be offered in the U.S., but you can see the 4 series convertible packs quite a powerful punch regardless.

The 4 Series Convertible will arrive at BMW of Idaho Falls sometimes during the first quarter of 2014. While we wait, subscribe to our blog for more details as the arrival date looms.
