BMW Posts Best-Ever June Sales

A while back, we told you that Bavarian automaker BMW had a pretty stellar first quarter of 2013, in spite of a downturn in the European automobile market. Now, midway through the year, this trend has continued to the point of smashing records.

The sales report for the month of June is in, and it was more than merely "a big one" for BMW. As a matter of fact, the 21.4 percent increase over the same month in 2012 makes it the biggest June for the automaker, ever.

In total, the Bavarian manufacturer and their MINI subsidiaries sold 33,645 vehicles sold in the United States last month, up from 27,720 in 2012. On the whole, this represents a 9 percent year-to-date recording compared to the same time in 2012. That's pretty exciting news!

So, which models made the biggest splashes last month? We'll tell you.

The BMW 3 Series, heavyweight champion and "All-Star" as named by Automobile Magazine, saw gains, as well as the 6 Series and 7 Series ranges. In the SAV segment, the X3 saw a 5 percent jump as well.

That's not all, though. Not only are new BMW models turning big numbers, but there has been a jump in customers turning to certified pre-owned and used BMW autos as well.

Needless to say, we're excited to see the Bavarian automaker going against the trends in the European auto market, and to see the popularity of some of our favorite models skyrocket.
